John Carter, Broker / Owner

John Carter is a dynamic and visionary leader, proudly leading over 250 top REALTORS® at REMAX River City in Edmonton, AB. Since 2002, John has been an accomplished selling REALTOR®, specializing in residential properties, condos, and commercial investments, including working as a commercial broker in Toronto for three years.

As an owner of the brokerage since 2008, he then took on the role of Administration Manager in 2014 and Broker in 2017. In a short time after, he was awarded Broker/Manager of the year in 2019 by the REALTORS® Association of Edmonton and Broker/Owner of the year for REMAX Canada in 2020. A very nice acknowledgement after managing that challenging time in the world and our industry. In 2021, he was also awarded the Champion of the Year for the REALTORS® Community Foundation which is one of many charitable organizations he’s involved and passionate about. Others including the Stollery Children’s Hospital Foundation, Uncles and Aunts at Large, and Canadian Progress Club chapter.

Throughout his career, John has consistently set and surpassed goals, earning a reputation for his unwavering support of others in achieving their own aspirations. In addition to real estate brokerage, John has been an active real estate investor since 2001 and even bought his first apartment building, a 12-unit project near Westmount, in his last year of university. His journey as a Prop-Tech Enabled Broker started in the early 2000s when he was the head of sales and industry advisor for RealPageMaker, one of the pioneers of IDX/VOW technology in the real estate space. He believes that optimizing technology integration with exceptional people is the key to any business’ success now and in the future.  John continues to drive the brokerage forward with a focus on cutting-edge technology, client satisfaction, and compassionate leadership.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, John cherishes his personal life. He is blessed to have Cheryl as his life partner, who is also a preferred mortgage broker partner with the office. It’s not uncommon to hear them talking about real estate on date nights. Their wonderful family includes two amazing sons, and a 90 lb rescue dog named Rupert. Family is integral to John and extends to how he treats each member of the River City Family as well. His favourite hobbies and passions include world travel, mountain biking, golf, hiking, paddle-boarding, sailing, snowboarding and almost anything outdoors.

John is confident REMAX River City will remain at the forefront of the industry, by offering exceptional service, being new tech pioneers and fostering strong relationships with our clients and community.

Fun Fact: John lived on a powerboat for 3 years as a kid in Victoria, BC.

Shane Parent, Associate Broker/Owner 

Shane’s focus is on Associate support and development through one-on-one coaching. As a certified Tom Ferry coach, he brings a wealth of knowledge, resources and fun to helping Associates achieve their goals. He also offers specialized experience for teams, with experience managing his own team of REALTORS® for over 10 years, building many successful Associates. His involvement with various coaching programs and a genuine attitude of support are a key asset to those in growth mode. Shane is a current Tom Ferry Coach helping Agents across North America and brings that value to the Associates at RE/MAX River City. He operates out of the St Albert Trail location.

Fun Fact: My wife Avideh and I are world champion salsa dancers!

Robert Biddlecombe, REALTOR® / Manager

Robert Biddlecombe spent 21 years in Canadian Airlines International. After his early retirement from the aviation industry, he joined a local company in a sales management role and found out that he enjoys giving exceptional customer service.

Robert joined RE/MAX and became a REALTOR® in 2003. Real estate gives him the freedom to do what he loves, working with people to achieve their dreams and serving the community. Why RE/MAX? Because Robert believes in its values. He loves being a part of a team-oriented company with award-winning service and strong ties to the local community of Beaumont and surrounding areas.

He is the former president of Beaumont Business Association, a founding member and past president of Beaumont Cruizers Car Club, and a coach for almost 7 years for the Beaumont Minor Baseball Association.

Fun Fact: My first car was a 1965 Ford Mustang and I have had a love for classic cars ever since.

Art Kominek, Compliance Manager

Art Kominek is a highly accomplished real estate manager with over 20 years of experience in commercial and residential sectors. In recognition of his exceptional performance, he achieved the prestigious “CREB Million Dollar Club” award in 2004 and 2005. As a broker delegate, Art successfully opened and managed an Edmonton office in 2010, overseeing 80 agents concurrently in Calgary and Edmonton. His agent training experience and his Computer Science degree, led him to become a CREB instructor, where he taught technology-related courses and served as a headline speaker at a summit event. Recently, Art acted as a Subject Matter Expert, contributing to the audit of AREA’s training courses to align with RECA’s competencies. With a passion for real estate and an unwavering commitment to excellence, Art is highly regarded as an industry contributor and is sought after by organizations and professionals for his expertise.

Fun Facts: I competed at nationals as a University of Alberta gymnast and I have designed ground control stations for US military UAV’s.

Rosanna Fischer, Co-Owner

Rosanna Fischer is the Co-owner/Vice President of KDM Management Inc. as well as Co-Owner of all three of the REMAX River City brokerages.  Rosanna is a dynamic force in the workplace, using her positive attitude and tireless energy to encourage others to work hard and succeed.  Philanthropic at heart, Rosanna gives back to the community in numerous ways. She currently sits on the St. Albert District and Chamber as first Chair and is President of KDM Helping Hands. In 2019, Rosanna was the recipient of the Lynda Moffat Woman of Distinction Award and in 2022, Rosanna was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee Medal.  In addition, and under her guidance, KDM Management Inc was awarded the Chair’s Award of Distinction in 2022. Rosanna’s hard work does not go unnoticed and leaves a lasting impact on everyone she works with. 

Brian Fischer, Co-Owner

Brian Fischer is a successful real estate professional (Broker) and business owner with over 20 years in the real estate industry. After starting his career in the restaurant business, Brian transitioned to real estate as an investor, and then in 2004 became a licensed REALTOR®. In 2010, his wife Rosanna and him bought KDM Management Inc. which is a condominium management company that has grown substantially under their tenure. In 2016, the Fischer’s bought an interest in REMAX River City, the brokerage where they both started their careers. In addition, the Fischer’s founded and continue to operate a registered charity – KDM Helping Hands which provides support to fill the gaps for children and families in need.
In addition to these professional achievements, Brian is a proud stepfather of 2 daughters & 3 granddaughters. Brian’s passions include food, wine, travel & golf.

Anna Arsenault, Administration Manager

Anna is responsible for support team supervision and thus all facets of Office Administration including transaction conveyancing and accounts. She is onsite Monday to Friday from 9am to 5pm to promptly deal with any issues with your closings as well as any questions you may have regarding Associate financials. Our goal is to resolve any issues in your business quickly and easily for you so you can sell more real estate.

Fun Fact: I am a proud mom to two taekwondo ninjas!

ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT TEAM

Reception

This is typically the first impression and interaction with the office. As the smiling, welcoming face to greet you and your clients, we ensure friendly, accurate and efficient communications and tasking. Answering all phone calls and relaying detailed messages to all REALTORS®, timely forwarding all faxes, emails or packages.  Reception staff handle the processing of listings for all REALTORS® and their clients as well as other administrative needs.

Staff are in-office and available to support your clients being able to pick-up or drop-off deposit cheques, keys, offer paperwork or other important items. Calls are managed by a member of the office during business hours rather than an after-hours paging service, to provide the highest and best level of service and knowledge.

Morgan Hodgson, Reception (St.Albert Trail) 

Fun Fact: I love spending time in my garden as it’s a small veggie and fruit farm filled with snap peas, cucumbers, raspberries, and more! I am also a proud pet parent to my dog, Luna and cat, Pepperfeffer. Don’t be shy, and come say hi to me at the front!

Karma Coleman, Reception (South/Calgary Trail) 

Fun Facts: I love animals, especially dog training and animal behaviour, nutrition, and breed education. I’ve also sung the anthem for the Edmonton Oilers twice.

Annie Schurek, Part Time Reception 

Fun Fact: I am a Disney fanatic. DI have been to Disneyland 15 times, Disney world 7 times and gone on one Disney cruise!

Yulia Karimova, Broker Assistant

Conveyancing Department

Manages the accurate and timely processing of all your real estate trades, ensuring exact commissions, and serving as a double check on all paperwork to protect both you and your clients. Communicating with all lawyers with instructions for payment and processing of all trades.
