About Loida

Loida Lumanlan’s journey embodies resilience, determination, and a deep connection to community. In 1987, she made a life-changing move from the Philippines to Canada to reunite with her family. Starting as a grocery store cashier, she navigated the challenges of single parenthood, often working 60-hour weeks to provide for her family. Being a REALTOR® now is extremely special as Loida faced homelessness at a point and had to lean on the Win House for support.

In 1999, Loida took a leap of faith and transitioned to become a home sales representative. Her hard work and dedication caught the attention of a REMAX agent in Sherwood Park, leading her to become an agent in 2000. Loida later joined REMAX River City in 2001, where her passion for real estate and commitment to quality service shone through.

Beyond her professional achievements, Loida’s proudest roles are those of a mother and a wife. She raised four children, all of whom graduated from the University of Alberta, with two pursuing their masters at the University of Calgary. Her husband, Jim, has been her number one supporter throughout her journey and is continuously her source of motivation.

Loida’s love for people and her community is evident in everything she does. She thrives at connecting with others, listening to their stories, and gaining insights into her surroundings. Furthermore, Loida plays a pivotal role in mentorship at REMAX River City, where she dedicates herself to guiding and nurturing aspiring agents, and empowering them to flourish independently within the industry. During her time here at REMAX River City Loida has mentored many agents and built them up to being very successful, confident solo agents.

However, Loida’s leadership extends beyond real estate too; she is set to become the President of the Rotary Club of Edmonton Strathcona in July 2024 and is actively involved in the Philippines Business Society of Alberta.

Drawing from her Filipino background, where community and helping others are core values, Loida finds joy in sharing her knowledge and expertise. Mentoring not only benefits her mentees but also keeps her sharp and inspired, reminding her of effective techniques while providing fresh perspectives.
