The More You Learn, The More You Earn

At RE/MAX River City, we offer four levels of training for our REALTORS®:

  1. In House Training
  2. REMAX University & Online Training
  3. Alliances with the Best Trainers and Coaches in the Business
  4. Conferences

In House Training

We offer regular in person training sessions twice per week at our training centre. Full calendar of upcoming topics can be found here: Training & Events Calendar 

These sessions cover these general types:

  1. REMAX’s momentum materials – modules on the various skills you need to develop to be successful in this business. Developed through the cumulative experience of the tens of thousands of REMAX REALTORS in North America, delivered by our leadership team to put the local Edmonton interpretations on it.
  2. Workshops – From caravan style out of office sessions where we go see property, to tech workshops on social media advertising, going paperless, cloud based CMAs and more. Bring your laptop or tablet and walk out getting stuff done and learning at the same time!
  3. Panel Sessions – Typically with 2-3 REALTORS® who “walk the talk” on a subject, it’s a question and answer style format that allows you to learn from those who are getting results with techniques or strategies you can learn from.
  4. Guest Experts – We bring in outside experts like lenders, mortgage brokers, lawyers, inspectors and others from our Preferred Vendors list to present on various topics that impact your day to day client relationships. These sessions often bring you value you can take directly back to your clients individually or via newsletter or video style value added updates.

Mentorship Program

We have a structured mentorship program that facilitates matching up newer REALTORS® with those experienced and successful REALTORS® to learn one-on-one. The structured program provides a framework to ensure both parties stay on task with the key skills and tools every successful and productive agent needs to learn.

We provide the apprentice with a list of 3-5 names of potential mentors based on the true colours personality matching system. It’s a two-way interview, so we encourage every apprentice to reach out and setup an in person get together with the prospective mentors to find the best fit.

The program typically runs over a three month period, meeting weekly at minimum.

Sales Meetings

We host monthly sales meetings at the Old Strathcona REALTOR’S Loft to discuss current market conditions, industry and regulatory updates, group advertising opportunities, award our top salespeople from the prior month and more. These are always a hybrid format, with food and drinks provided for those in person. Plus are recorded for future reference.

REMAX University & Online Training

An exclusive on demand video library of training resources. Search for topics or take specific courses, all from the best of the best in North America, and some internationally. This comes included with your REMAX franchise fees.

Canadian conferences are hosted every year and are moved around major cities in Canada to host, bouncing between western and central/eastern Canada each year. These have excellent speakers and content as well as often more targeted networking for client referral exchange. Trade show booths with various quality vendors, fun events, and parties! Great excuse to make a vacation out of it and experience some of Canada’s beauty. You don’t want to miss it.

Many of our REALTORS® also attend the Ontario/Atlantic regional conferences annually to network with colleagues in that region for referrals for clients moving into Edmonton from those markets. Plus it’s a great opportunity to learn what’s working in other markets and implement here in your business. And it’s a great excuse to explore a new city in our beautiful and vast country with some amazing local hosts that always love to show off their hometown!

The RE/MAX International Conference is called R4

More than 9,000+ Affiliates from 60+ countries attended the 2023 R4 which was the 50th Anniversary of RE/MAX!

It covers virtually every aspect of real estate. There are dozens of educational sessions and top producer panels. You come away from it with all sorts of new ideas and contacts. Plus you get to enjoy a few days (or make it a week and vacation too) in Las Vegas!

There are also other international conferences in Europe and other regions in the world, which can be a great way to see part of the world with other like minded friends.
